Praise and worship bring God's presence into your problems, your home, your business—into wherever you are. C.S. Lewis said, "In worship, God imparts Himself to us." Think about that.
God gives us Himself. As we worship Him, He comes rushing into our lives, our situations, our problems, and our pain. He arrives, and things begin to change. His presence reveals His favor and delight in us, and it distinguishes us from all the other people, religions, and belief systems of this world.
There have been times when I was struggling with physical pain, discouragement, rejection, and so many other challenges over the years. The last thing I felt like doing was praising and worshiping God.
But I put on the most anointed worship music I could find. I entered His gates with thanksgiving and began to thank Him. Then, I came into His courts with praise. I boldly approached the throne of grace and mercy to find help in my time of need.
Praise changes atmospheres.
But most of all, praise changes me.
I have never left God's presence without being uplifted—never. And from that higher place, I fight my battles. Problems look so different when God raises you above them.
