My pastor was preaching a powerful message that Sunday morning. He was really anointed. God's tangible presence was in the sanctuary. Then it happened. A woman in the second or third row levitated off the seat of her chair and immediately manifested a demonic presence. People freaked out. This had never happened in our church before.

Parents ran to get their kids in the children's ministry and to get them out of there. Other people just ran for the doors. But a core group of intercessors gathered around this woman to set her free. She was supernaturally strong. The demons muttered vile threats and deep, twisted voices coming out of her mouth.

But when we commanded them to be silent and spoke to her, she said she wanted to be free. Pastor calmly took authority over the demons. We soon found out that there were several of them. We did pray and ask God for help. But the demons wouldn't leave until we commanded them in Jesus name.

In Jesus authority. Holy Spirit told us what to say and led us what to do. I was one of the three men taking authority and commanding the demons to leave. At one point, I got bold and said and did some things that were beyond what God had shown me or told me I was.

I was operating in the flesh. Immediately I felt incredibly weak and powerless. It was terrifying. The demonic darkness was coming after me. I knew that I suddenly felt helpless and so weak I could barely stand up. You see, I'd been feeling God's power as I was walking with him in Jesus Authority.

But now I felt nothing but weakness and fear. A friend came behind me, put his hand on my back and prayed. I immediately felt God's power returning to me. I stopped moving on my own and waited on God. I suddenly had a deep understanding that with Jesus I could do anything.

But on my own. I was completely without authority over these dark spirits. It was me on operating in Jesus authority that had power and they knew it. James 4. 7 explains, Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you again and again. In Jesus name, we commanded those devils to leave.

They resisted testing our faith. As the process continued, our faith grew stronger and God's power was released. One by one, they left her. Our faith picked up Jesus authority that he had given us to use. And when we used his authority, God's power was released. The demons who'd been tormenting that woman for many years were forced to leave.

She was born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit that day.
