How to Get Mercy from God Every day. Adversity in our lives comes like a great darkness that consumes us. It overwhelms us. It blinds us. It suffocates us. Bad news can literally take our breath away. It makes it hard to breathe and even harder to see through the darkness, through the circumstances that we're under.
Trying to navigate these dark times on our own means that we stay under the darkness. We need to see through this. We need need to see beyond our circumstances. Many scriptures affirm that Jesus is the light of the world. John 1:5 establishes that he's greater than any darkness. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
We escape the darkness in our thoughts, in our hearts, in our lives. By walking in the light we run to Jesus. He opens our eyes to see beyond our circumstance. He pours out his love, renews our hope, and strengthens our faith.
Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning.
Meet Jesus in praise and worship first thing Every morning.
Psalm 104:5 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever. His faithfulness continues through all generations.
This never fails for me. If I'm struggling with pain or anything else that's dragging me down, I go to worship. I put on an uplifting playlist on my phone and draw near to God. I enter his gates with thanksgiving. I thank him, and I begin to praise him with all my heart.
I draw near, boldly approaching God's throne of grace, the throne of love and forgiveness and favor to get the help I need. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.
I'm there to receive mercy and grace, God's favor, His forgiveness and his love to help me in my time of need.
