What will considering others better than yourself do for you? Well first it renews your mind to think like Jesus. It reminds you how God values other people. And then second it teaches you how to love even when you really don't feel it. And third it will genuinely change the way you see others and eventually change how you feel about them.
It's pretty powerful. Philippians 2 verses 3 to 5 in the CEB says don't do anything for selfish purposes, but with humility. Think of others as better than yourselves. Instead of each person watching out for their own good, watch out for what is better for others. Adopt the attitude that was in Christ.
Jesus Christ came to give his life for ours. He considered our lives as more precious than his own. He looked out for our interests and he put us first. Putting others first makes us like Christ. Use the daily situations in your life to put others first. Think about the other person as you do it.
Consider them better than yourself.
