Have you ever faced a moment in life when you didn't know what to do or where to turn? God answers our questions through his word. Matthew 4:4 says, man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Word in this verse is rhema, the spoken word of God.

We live by the words that God speaks to us every day. It's daily bread. We need to take it like we take meals. When life goes horribly wrong, we can have confidence only in what God tells us. Romans 10:17 says, so. Faith then comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Word in this verse again is rhema, meaning the spoken word of God. Faith comes from hearing God speak to us. God speaks to us often by making scripture come alive to us

This can happen in many ways. God also speaks to us by repetition. For example, I've had God highlight a verse to me in the morning as I'm spending time with him. And then that same verse will appear several times during that day or throughout the week. It can come from a friend talking to me or from a sermon.

It can come from many sources. But when God repeats something to us again and again, he's talking to us and we need to listen. And God can also speak to us through a still, small voice, just an inner knowing in our hearts. He also sometimes sends people that give us prophetic words.

I've even had God speak to me through movies. I was watching a movie one day and I saw a scene in the movie, and all of a sudden I felt the Lord speaking to me about a situation in my life. He took the principle from the movie and he was telling me to apply that to a very different situation in my life.

God speaks, and when he speaks, we can have confidence, faith that what he said is what we need. Faith comes from hearing God speaks to us. And as a daily thing, if you want to know something, just ask God. Jeremiah 33:3 says, Call to me and I'll answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

God promises not only to give us information and answers, but to give us wisdom so we can navigate through the confusing times of life. James 1:5. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

There have been many times in my life when I simply didn't know what to do or even how to pray. And I simply asked God for wisdom

get through that time and he's answered that prayer again and again for me, and he'll do the same for you. All of this comes through daily interaction, daily relationship with God, as we meet him in his word, as we meet him in prayer, and we meet him in worship.

Matthew 7:7-8 says, Ask and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be open to you. For everyone who asks receives. The one who seeks, finds. And to the one who knocks, the door will be open.
