When you worship, Heaven invades your circumstances. The Bible says that praises are God's weapons of war. Have you experienced that? You need to. Praise invites God's presence into our problems, and when God shows up, everything changes. This truth has transformed lives, including mine. It will transform your life too.
So where do we go to meet God? How do we come into His presence? The answer is found in Psalm 100:4: "Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name." God is a loving Father who always has time for us, His children.
We come near to God by shifting our focus from our circumstances to gaze upon Him and remember who He is and all He has done for us. We come into His tangible presence by adjusting the attitudes of our hearts. Give thanks, and the gates of Heaven open, inviting you to come closer.
Then praise takes us closer still—into His courts, into His presence. Thanksgiving opens the gates; praise brings us into God's presence.
C.S. Lewis said, "In worship, God imparts Himself to us." Think about that. God gives us Himself. As we worship Him, He comes rushing into our lives, into our situations, into our problems, into our pain.
Psalm 149:6 reveals the truth: "God's high and holy praises are weapons of war." When you open your mouth in praise, you release God's power to bring victory into your situation. Praise isn’t just worship—it’s warfare.
