"We get saved by believing in Jesus, but we get free by believing like Jesus." – Steve Backlund
The core of our beliefs is called our worldview. Our worldview determines the hundreds of decisions we make each day. It determines the direction of our lives. We create a framework of core beliefs that become a mental, spiritual, and emotional filter through which we make life’s choices.
This filter determines what we believe is true, important, right, or appropriate. Every decision we make goes through that filter. What we believe determines what we’ll do.
A biblical worldview is simply to think like Jesus. Thinking like Jesus will set you free.
"So Jesus said to the Jews who believed him, ‘If you continue to obey my teaching, if you will remain or abide in my word, you’re truly my disciples. Then you’ll know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’" John 8:31-32
Now, this requires faith. It’s not the truth we know, but the truth we believe and abide in—the truth we live in.
"For indeed we also have had the good news of salvation preached to us, just as the Israelites also when the good news of the promised land came to them. But the message they heard did not benefit them because it was not united with faith in God by those who heard."
Hebrews 4:2 (Amplified Version)
Our faith activates the truth we know and makes it come alive in our lives.
Everything in conflict with God’s Word is not true. It doesn’t matter what we think. It doesn’t matter what we want or how we feel. The measure for a biblical worldview is: "What does God say?"
Life comes from what we believe.
