Satan worries us the way a cat worries a small mouse. Worry is Satan grabbing you with vicious teeth and shaking you back and forth until you're totally disoriented, then batting you around as you stagger in confusion and try to escape the thoughts that are tormenting you. Satan's teeth are thoughts, the concerns, the worries that grab onto us and won't let go.

A second definition of worry is to torment oneself or to suffer from disturbing thoughts. Dictionary.com mice are powerless in the jaws or under the paws of cats, which are often over a hundred times bigger and stronger than they could ever be. So are men powerless before demons and the devices of demons without God.

But you and I are not without without God. We call on God and He comes to our defense, and the dark thoughts that hold us captive flee like a cat being pursued by a Rottweiler. Philippians 4:6:7 gives us God's instructions how to overcome an anxious mind. Let's get rid of the anxieties and fears that we have right now.

Don't be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith filled request before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life. Then God's wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will guard your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus.
