You wouldn't give a chainsaw to a six year old to cut wood. Neither can God give you great power to do the things that he needs done until we develop the character to carry his anointing, to carry the power to do the will of God here on the earth.
Ephesians, uh, 4:22, 24 gives you the practical steps. Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires. And be renewed in the spirit of your minds. Put on the new self created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Take off your old self, your old way of thinking and living. That means unplugging your old way of fulfilling desires. Don't let desires drive you to do the things you used to do. Be renewed in the spirit of your minds. Renew your mind with God's word and the wisdom of godly people in your life.
Put on Christ. Accept the fact that your spirit is perfect before God. Right now your life has been united with Christ. You no longer have any sin in your life. Jesus came to make you whole. Jesus wiped out your past. In God's eyes it is no more. Now there's only you and the future you'll have together with God.
You'll have the same basic desires. We all have them. But pursue God's way of, uh, filling your desires. Don't try to fill them yourself or desperately seek others to fill the deep desires of your heart. Let God do it. He wants to, and so much more as you do that you'll walk God's path to maturity and the amazing life God has waiting for you.
Romans 12:2. The new living translation will be your reality. Let God transform you into a new person, um, by changing the way you think. Transform people, transform nations. This is your identity and this is your destiny.
