10:18 Call to Action: Trust Jesus Today

1. “Come to Me”
Jesus’ invitation is deeply personal. He came to earth so we could draw near to God (John 12:32) and become part of His family (Romans 8:15). We are not insignificant; we are brothers and sisters of Jesus, invited to walk with Him.

2. “All You Who Are Weary and Carrying Heavy Burdens”
Satan relentlessly attacks us, seeking to wear us down and destroy us (John 10:10). Whether it’s sin, shame, guilt, or worldly struggles, Jesus calls us to bring our burdens to Him. He offers freedom from the weight of our fallen world and the attacks of the enemy.

3. “And I Will Give You Rest”
True rest and peace can only be found in Jesus. Human efforts, worldly philosophies, and religions often leave people striving without peace. As Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” This rest is further emphasized in Hebrews 4:9-10, where believers are invited to enter God’s Sabbath rest, free from striving.

A moving illustration recounts a missionary in China who shared Jesus with a devout Buddhist. The man, despite his moral life, admitted he lacked peace. Only through Jesus can we find deep, lasting rest for our souls.

4. “Take My Yoke Upon You”
Faith in Jesus is more than belief—it requires surrender. Jesus invites us to take His yoke, just as young animals are yoked to experienced ones to learn and share the load. Being yoked to Jesus means walking with Him faithfully throughout life.

Yokes represent boundaries that guide and protect us. When we stay yoked to Jesus, He pulls the weight during our weakest moments, as reflected in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. Paul writes, “When I am weak, then I am strong,” because God’s power is perfected in our weakness.

5. “Let Me Teach You (Because I Am Humble and Gentle at Heart)”
Despite His immense power, Jesus is gentle, kind, and forgiving. His humility is evident in His incarnation—becoming a human, being born as a helpless infant, and ultimately enduring the humiliation of crucifixion (Hebrews 12:1-2). Jesus’ humility and gentleness allow us to trust Him completely as He lovingly teaches us.

6. “And You Will Find Rest for Your Souls”
The rest Jesus offers isn’t just physical—it’s rest for our souls, encompassing our thoughts, emotions, and desires. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to bring our worries to God through prayer, allowing His peace to guard our hearts and minds. This supernatural peace surpasses all understanding and protects us from anxiety and despair.

7. “For My Yoke Is Easy to Bear, and the Burden I Give You Is Light”
The law was an impossible burden, but Jesus frees us through grace. His yoke is one of forgiveness, healing, and love. By taking on our sin, Jesus lightened our load and restored our brokenness. As 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 says, He comforts and strengthens us in every good work and word.
