"Finally let the Lord make you strong depend on his mighty power.
Ephesians 6:10 NIRV
Jesus is our strength. It's from him that we receive strength and power as Christians. Our lives are united with Christ. We are in Christ, and from that unity we face life together.
In Ephesians 6, Paul is saying that you have the strength to the power of God Almighty at your fingertips right now. It's yours. It's like God is handing you a blank check, waiting for you to reach out. Take it and fill in the check. Write what you need on that check.
Are you ready to fill in the check that God is offering you? Ephesians 6:11 18 goes on and tells us how we write that check. It talks about putting on the armor of God. We put on the helmet of salvation to protect our thoughts, the breastplate of righteousness to protect our moral purity, our innermost being.
We put on the belt of truth because Satan's greatest weapon is deception. We stand firm in God's shoes, the Gospel of peace. Our footing is rock solid and will not shift like sand. We stand on the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. God gives us firm footing so we won't fall.
We take up the shield of faith, our trust in Jesus, which will protect us from all the flaming arrows shot at us by Satan.
We have two offensive weapons, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. God's Word is released into our circumstances as we read, memorize, pray, praise, worship and declare God's Word over our circumstances. God's Word is His power. God, remember, created everything with words. God's words are important.
God gave us over 3,000 promises in the Bible and He wants us to release those promises into our lives. You release the promises of God by reading it, memorizing it, praising, declaring and praying those promises over your situatioN.
