Scripture helps us discern God's voice. Many voices compete for our attention, but Scripture helps us recognize God's voice so we can follow him. John 10:27 Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. You do hear God. Isaiah 30:21 assures us, Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way.
Walk in it when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. When you face major life decisions, God will be there. He'll be with you, and he will be speaking to you. But you need to be listening. And one of the ways that we listen is to open our Bible and let him speak to us through his word.
Psalm 32:8 promises, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Through Scripture, we become familiar with God's voice. God speaks to us most often through His Word. Develop a daily habit of meeting God in His Word.
Read it. Pray it. Ask God questions. Talk to God about the decisions that you've faced. You're going to be amazed at how often, just as you're going about the daily routine of reading the Word and spending time with God, how often he'll speak to you.
