You're at a party. Loud conversations and laughter fill the room, but no one talks to you. People glance through you and walk around you. You grow more and more uncomfortable. It's like you're not even there.
Do you ever feel invisible?
There's more than one way to be invisible. Tina is the most beautiful girl at Penn High. Guys can't stop staring, and girls can't stop whispering. And yet, Tina feels completely alone. She's tired of being the girl everyone looks at but no one truly sees. Behind the flawless face and perfect figure is a person longing to be seen for who she really is.
Here's the truth: God sees you.
God knows your dreams, and He knows your pain. And God understands. He's with you, and He's on your side.
Isaiah 49:15-16 says:
"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you. See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."
God sees you.
This is your new identity. Live from your new identity of heart connection to Jesus Christ, and you won't rely on people as much to give you these things. We're not dependent on people. We are dependent on God, who never fails.
