You may be thinking, I don't feel like all the spiritual blessings of heaven are mine. Satan works hard to make you feel that way. We take hold of God's promises by putting them in our hearts and our minds. We renew our minds with God's Word, and God changes us from the inside out by changing the way we think.

Romans 12:2 says, "Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." The NIV translates this as, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." In other words, don't listen to the voices of this world. Let God's voice—His Word—be your identity and open your destiny.

The specific things God has prepared for you to do with your life are waiting on the other side of your true identity.

Simon Crow, a missionary and church planter and the author of the Growchurch.net blog, posted this on his blog:
"I began to see myself the way God saw me. He changed my whole identity and showed me who I was in Christ. What changed? I had brought my thoughts and my words into alignment with God's Word, and that truth translated into my life."
