Who do You Think You Are? Breaking Free From Toxic Thoughts

Who do You Think You Are? Breaking Free From Toxic Thoughts

What could possibly cause a beautiful, godly young woman, to see herself as "ugly" both physically and spiritually?

Toxic thinking is rampant in the world today. If we are going to help people break from these destructive thoughts and beliefs, we need to understand what causes us to form beliefs and how we change what we believe.

This is the story of a young woman who literally couldn't see the beautiful person she was - inside and out and how God changed her belief through experiences with Him.

In the same way, God wants to break you free from your toxic thoughts through experiences with Him.

Our identity is made up of our memories, our beliefs, our wounds, our strongholds and our values.  Identity is the filter through which we see and understand things.

Much of the pain we experience in life comes from our beliefs. Beliefs are formed when we have strong emotional experiences,  give a meaning to those experiences, and live from the belief we just formed.

Our beliefs may be wrong - wildly incorrect. But, we are reluctant to change a belief once it is established. We form beliefs to make meaning of life and to protect ourselves.

New information rarely is enough to change an established belief. Beliefs can be changed by experiences - strong emotional experiences that contradict our previous belief.

Hearing God enables Him to give us experiences that can correct ungodly beliefs.

The activation is to hear and experience God in a specific way.
