Jesus asks, "Have You Learned to Love?" Part 1

We live in a world filled with transactional love: Love me and I’ll love you back. But if you stop loving me, I stop loving you.

To freely give love first, especially to someone who doesn't "deserve" it, is a rare thing. To love someone who hurt you is even more rare.

The "God kind of love" is without hooks or strings. Today and tomorrow, we're going to practice giving love to someone who we really don't like. Yes, you read that right.

John 6:38 in the AMP translation says, "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”

Many people think that verse is about money. It isn't. It is about giving love and doing good to those who don't deserve it.
